How It Works

Difflam For Sore Throat and mouth range contains the principle active ingredient, Benzydamine hydrochloride for fast effective action.

Difflam For Sore Throat directly targest the site of inflammation to reduce swelling and pain and it gently numbs the throat in a matter of seconds.

Difflam For Sore Throat

Active Ingredients:

Difflam-C Solution

Each 15 ml of Difflam C solution contains the antiseptic Chlorhexidine Gluconate 18mg in combination with Benzydamine hydrochloride 22.5mg.

Chlorhexidine Gluconate inhibits the growth of bacteria (Antibacterial action) and other micro-organisms.

Difflam Solution

Each 15 ml of Difflam Solution contains Benzydamine hydrochloride 22.5mg.

Difflam Lozenges

Each Difflam Lozenges contains, Benzydamine hydrochloride 3.00mg, Cetylpyridinium Chloride (CPC) 1.33mg.

Cetylpyridinium Chloride (CPC) 1.33mg is active against a range of micro-organisms, some fungi and viruses. Has some Antibacterial action but weaker than Chlorhexidine Gluconate.

Difflam Cough Lozenges

Each Difflam Cough Lozenge contains Benzydamine hydrochloride 1.50mg, Pholcodine 5.50mg, Cetylpyridinium Chloride (CPC)1.33mg. Pholcodine is an effective cough suppressant for Dry unproductive coughs.

Difflam Mouth Gel

Each gram of Difflam Mouth Gel contains Benzydamine hydrochloride 10mg,Cetylpyridinium Chloride (CPC) 1mg

Difflam Throat Spray 30ml

Each ml of Difflam Thoat Spray contains Benzydamine hydrochloride 1.5mg.

Difflam Forte Throat Spray 15ml

Each ml of Difflam Forte Spray contains Benzydamine hydrochloride 3.0mg.

Dosage:

Difflam Lozenges and Cough Lozenges:

Adults and children over 6 years, suck 1 lozenge one to two hourly as required, maximum 12 lozenges per day.

Difflam Solution:

Solution: adults and children over 6 years, rinse or gargle with 15ml (about 1 tablespoon) for 20-30 seconds every 1.5-3 hours, as required. Do not swallow. Uninterrupted Difflam treatment should not exceed 7 days without medical supervision. Not suitable for children under 6 years.

Difflam Throat Spray 30ml

Spray - adults 4-8 sprays every 1.5-3 hours; children 6-12 years 4 sprays every 1.5-3 hours; children under 6 years 1 spray for each 4kg of body weight, maximum 4 sprays every 1.5-3 hours.

Difflam Forte Throat Spray 15ml

Direct spray onto the affected area for relief of painful conditions of the mouth or throat. Adults: Spray 2-4 times directly onto the sore/inflamed area (and swallow gently). Repeat every 1 1/2 to 3 hours as necessary. Spray 2 times directly onto the sore/inflamed area (and swallow gently). Repeat every 1 1/2 to 3 hours as necessary. Not recommended for children under 6 years.

 

Difflam Mouth Gel 10g

Apply approximately 1cm of gel with a clean finger. Gently massage into sore area. Do not eat or drink for 15 minutes. Apply every 2-3 hours up to a maximum of 12 times a day.

Precautions

  • Hypersensitivity to any ingredient.
  • Do not chew lozenges, or swallow solutions.
  • Contains isomalt, excess consumption may have a laxative effect.
  • Consider antibacterial treatment if bacterial infection is present.
  • Avoid during Pregnancy and lactation.

Adverse Effects:

  • Oral numbness,
  • occasional burning or stinging.

Less commonly

  • dryness or thirst
  • tingling, warm feeling in the mouth
  • altered taste. Uncommon
  • nausea, vomiting
  • dizziness
  • headache
  • drowsiness
