Ingredients

Levothyroxine Sodium 50mcg

Directions 
Take on an empty stomach at least 30 mins before breakfast.
Adults: initially 50-100 mcg/day; may titrate by 50 mcg/day at 3-4 week intervals until normal metabolism maintained; usual range 100-200 mcg/day.

Adults > 50 years: initial max. 50 mcg/day.
Cardiac disease: initially 25 mcg/day; may increase gradually by 25 mcg/day at ˜ 4 week intervals.

Children. Congenital hypothyroidism, juvenile myxoedema: initially 25 mcg/day; may increase by 25 mcg/day at 2-4 week intervals. Juvenile myxoedema, age > 1 year: initially 2.5-5 mcg/kg/day; round dose to nearest 25 mcg.

Warning and Precautions
 Pretreatment ECG; panhypopituitarism; adrenal insufficiency predisposition; myocardial insufficiency, ischaemia; MI; diabetes mellitus, insipidus; age > 50 years; pregnancy, lactation, children

Keep out of reach of Children.

Adverse Reactions

Excess dosage: anginal pain; arrhythmia; palpitation; tachycardia; muscle cramp, weakness; GI upset; tremor; restlessness; excitability; insomnia; headache; flushing; sweating; excess weight loss.

Interactions

Anticoagulants; anticonvulsants incl carbamazepine, phenytoin; cardiac glycosides; sympathomimetics; TCAs; cholestyramine; OC; antidiabetics.
