Dr Reddys Pantoprazole replaces Somac

  If you are using Somac in NZ, a proton pump Inhibitor for gastroesophageal reflux disease, then this medicine will be replace by a generic, Dr Reddys Pantopazole from 1 June 2008.

Somac, will be delisted by Pharmac and will no longer be subdised but you can still get it in your pharmacy if you want to pay for it.

Another Proton Pump Inhibitor which is used by hundreds of thousands of Kiwis, Losec will be delisted in May 2009. A generic will replace Losec.
