Age-related macular Degeneration (ADM) and Lutein-Vision

25July 2010
Age related macular degeneration (ADM) is a medical condition which usually affects older adults that results in a loss of vision in the center of the visual field (the macula) because of damage to the retina. ADM can make it difficult or impossible to read or recognize faces, although enough peripheral vision remains to allow other activities of daily life.
Dr Nick Mantell from the Auckland eye Institute recommends from the recent Healthwise issue to take supplement containing a high dose of Lutein and selenomethionine which helps to slow down ADM.
Blackmores has scientically develope their macular health formula Lutein-Vision which helps to protect the macular region as well maintaining visual sharpness and increasing macular pigment density.
