Habitrol patches are part of a carefully structured Habitrol support program including materials designed to provide you with information to help you stop smoking (see leaflet inside carton).

Special Features:

• Habitrol patches, being a step-down approach will reduce your nicotine dose gradually, rather than stopping suddenly.
• The program consists of 3 steps which you will need to follow. Each step has a specifically designed Habitrol patch that supplies your body with nicotine over a 24 hour period.
• The dose of nicotine delivered through the patch decreases as you go from Habitrol Step 1 through to Habitrol Step 3.
• Completing the entire program will increase your chance of quitting successfully. The step at which you start the program will depend on how many cigarettes you smoke each day. Each Habitrol patch can be worn for 24 hours so it works night and day.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Adult dosage: Apply one patch at the same time every day, preferably on waking. Press patch firmly onto clean, dry, non-hairy skin, holding it in place for 20 seconds. Do not re-apply to previously used skin for 3 days.
The enclosed leaflet provides full instructions on application. It is important to read and follow them carefully
in order to ensure optimal adhesion of the patch.

Lozenge instruction:
Suck one lozenge slowly when you feel the urge to smoke. Do not exceed 15 lozenges in one day.

HABITROL Step 1 (21 mg/24 hours patch)

is the starting point for people who smoke 20 or more cigarettes a day.
You should remain on Habitrol Step 1, one patch per day, for 4 weeks.

At this point:
HABITROL Step 2 (14mg/24 hours patch)

can be commenced on a daily basis for 4 weeks, prior to moving

to:
HABITROL Step 3 (7mg/24 hours patch)

for another period of 4 weeks.
In total the Habitrol treatment will take 12 weeks.

 
If you smoke less than 20 cigarettes per day you only need to start with Habitrol Step 2 (14mg/24 hours patch),
and use this for 4 weeks. You can then follow on with Habitrol Step 3 (7mg/24 hours patch) for 8 weeks.

Ingredients:

Each habitrol patch 21mg patch contains:  52.5mg nicotine in a 24 hour release.                                        Each habitrol patch 14mg  patch contains: 35mg nicotine in a 24 hour release.
Each habitrol patch 7mg  patch contains: 17.5mg nicotine in a 24 hour release.

Each habitrol 1mg Lozenge contains: 1mg nicotine, sugar free
